I was feeling ambitious and decided to go directly for their first Communications and Airspace Training (CAT) certification. CAT-1 is easy - fly from one non-towered airport (L52 Oceano) to another (L88 New Cuyama) making proper radio calls.

In MSFS I've flown the default C152 and the add-on Carenado Mooney on VATSIM via vPilot, and radio frequencies do propagate normally from the sim to the pilot client. On the Mooney, the Transponder panel does NOT -- but again, the commands built into vPilot offer a workaround until it's fixed.
